Teresa Murak. I am

Teresa Murak is a conceptual artist. Since the 1970s, her style has been determined by fleeting materials, such as cress, germinating cereal grains, ash and destructible fabrics. This translates into the character of her art, which is related to earth and nature. In her works, Teresa Murak conducts a simple dialogue, she opens herself to the viewer, whom she encourages to co-create her works.
I AM is an original look at Silesia, its identity. The cross, made of 14 steel elements and covered with bituminous coal, combines the spheres of spirit, sacrum and what has become the symbol of prosperity, but also a curse of de-industrialization, environmental pollution. Jestem, the title, emphasizes the nature of the work, itself constituting an element of an open process one can return to and recreate it, so as to depict the thoughts of the artist and the viewer who gives it a new meaning.
